Sydney Rossman of Minnetonka named 2013 Senior Goalie of the Year

Sydney Rossman of Minnetonka High School has been named the Let’s Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year, the newspaper announced today at the annual Ms. Hockey Awards Banquet. The award is presented annually to the top Minnesota senior goalie in girls’ high school hockey.

One of the state’s top goalies the past four seasons, Sydney Rossman posted outstanding numbers for the Skippers. The owner of a 16-3-0 record, Rossman had a 1.13 goals-against average and a save percentage of .937. Splitting time with junior Hannah Ehresmann, Rossman allowed one or fewer goals in 14 of her 19 starts, including four shutouts. Three of Minnetonka’s four losses on the season came when Rossman allowed more than one goal. She ended the season on a nine-game winning streak.

The puck stops here. It’s time to announce the five finalists for the 2013 Let’s Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year Award for girls’ high school hockey goaltenders in Minnesota.

The winner will be announced on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Ms. Hockey Awards Banquet at the St. Paul RiverCentre, the day after the conclusion of the girls’ high school tournament.

Let’s Play Hockey has announced the 10 semifinalists for the 2013 Ms. Hockey Award and the Senior Goalie of the Year Award, presented to the top senior girls’ high school hockey player and goalie in Minnesota, respectively.
